Samuel Roth
Samuel Roth was a bookseller in New York who got involved with pornography and got busted. Evidently he got screwed over by his own people, and came to hate them. He wrote a book called Jews Must Live, which title is bestowed ironically. Recent events, notably the potential destruction of Al-Aqsa, have brought the quote highlighted below to mind. He was a good prose writer, and honest.
It is important to note that this plan for a third temple is entirely contradictory to their text. David wanted to build a temple, but God said no, you are a warrior and you have shed too much blood. I will let your son Solomon build the temple.
The book is worth reading, it’s amusing and very well written.
