When you take a $12 million guitar to a bar gig with a Dead cover band

I hope this thing is insured. As you may know, it sold a couple weeks ago for just under $12 million. I went to the auction in New York in 2002, and seeing Tiger and Wolf up close (there was a showing the day before the auction) was a big deal for me.

Funny story, one time I saw Derek Trucks with Phil Lesh at the Fillmore in Denver, and I took seven hits of acid and forgot to go back to the car after the show. I went outside and there was a bar across the street, and a lot of kids were going there, so I just went to the bar and forgot about my friends. They waited two hours for me, in vain. I ended up sleeping on a couch in some girl’s apartment. My buddy who drove was pretty irritated with me, understandably.
