Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots

This was a good concept album, I liked it better than the Radiohead stuff, Kid A and OK Computer. They need more sunshine in England, or something. When they toured to promote this record, I didn’t know their stuff, but a friend convinced me to go. She drove us out to Lawrence, Kansas from Kansas City, and we walked right in the front door without tickets. We were a little late, and it was the venue on the campus of the University of Kansas. The Flaming Lips played, and then Beck played with the Flaming Lips as his backup band. Good show.
